What are the characteristics of this course?
You could start your journey to learn English feeling very cold and very slow. You will be walking up a snow-covered mountain. When people start a course to learn English, they are likely to not finish it because courses usually fail to properly motivate students. Students fail to motivate themselves, too, which is not difficult to guess, but obviously difficult to avoid.
As an experienced ESL teacher with its own book of DOs and DONTs, I have formed my own approach to teaching, which my students benefit from without losing the willingness to keep going. And if you want to learn English, you´ll need to keep going for a while. It’s a very tall mountain.
I put together the lessons in this course with the objective of offering a platform tailored to understand what motivates you, and how that can be a part in every lesson. I haven´t designed a single activity to showcase content alone. Every exercise, question, or command was carefully picked so that it creates patterns in you not only to learn, but to want to learn.
You will learn how to boost your own skills and how to recycle your motivation, without a teacher being there for you, necessarily. The fact that this is my “first and foremost” is what makes a difference.
The lessons will consist of:
- Introduction (checks previous content and sets the tone for the new one)
- New content
- Conclusions (general feedback, summarizing, homework)
The language in the course will increase complexity as the levels progress, so expect it to go from simple to complex. If at any time you need extra assistance, you can always book a lesson to target that particular concern or to simply have someone qualified to have targeted practice.
Nothing else! Thank you for being here. You can begin your first lesson now.
