It’s sunny today! The last time, I was discussing staying silent while a speaker speaks. I was just reading I wrote that “Some of us usually have something to say”, but I actually want to add that some of us usually HAVE TO say something. That’s the point. Not knowing that we don’t HAVE TO could be paramount.
A speaker is pouring their brains into sentences and I’m thinking about how to make it harder for them. I don’t realize this, because I’m just looking to engage…… including interrupting words. It’s really incredible that I, and the people I know, do that sometimes, and so often.
What makes it worth analyzing to me is very much the fact that by going after “breaking” -meaning challenging others as they speak regarding what they say-……you didn’t guess it, but you’re frequently creating tasks for you. We had so many already from before; from life. You´re going after yourself.
This is an example that might make it easier to understand:
- A friend starts a conversation with you about aliens.
- You add a line of dialogue because you HAVE TO participate.
- You agree, disagree, change focus of the talk. It’s a long list of possibilities.
- Your friend redirects his/her talk towards what you’ve shown interest in, gets mad, loses concentration and train of thought -and sometimes everything.
- You end up not learning about aliens and not achieving the social interaction you feel good about during the recap of your day. And you know: We recap.
Well, that doesn’t really sound that bad. Check again. If it did sound off, you’re beginning not to be off. Not knowing that we don’t HAVE TO could be paramount. Are you infected, though? You need less that 30 mins to realize that.
